Day 1 (Eugene to Missoula) - RunnerSpace.com/Travels Season 1
Published by
Today marks the beginning of our five month venture East with a hearty appetite for all things running—and room leftover for whatever else we might encounter. With a goal of being in New York for Millrose Games on Friday, we knew we had some full days of driving ahead of us. Following a brief stop in Hood River, we proceeded along the Columbia River Gorge in separate vehicles en route to Missoula, Montana. Because Calvin had to first drop his truck off in Spokane, we were left to entertain ourselves for the better part of the day. I found quickly that my iPod was in need of an update after Phil Collins and Heart looped a few times. We are now driving down I-90 through a mixture of snow and freezing rain. Fear not, dear reader-I have relinquished driving duties for the night.
Song of the day: “Sussudio,” Phil Collins
Thanks to Randy and Holly Brawner for Fajitas and to Drew Kliber for letting us kick it at his pad; the coolest spot in Montana
